Environ Skincare: The Who, What & Why
Environ-who? I get this question a lot, and I honestly LOVE answering it.
Environ Skincare is a globally recognized, science-backed, results-driven skincare brand. I know, I know…you’ve heard that same line from a thousand other skin care brands before. “Natural” “Medical-Grade” “Clean” “Dermatologist-Recommended” “Cruelty-Free” the list goes on. And yes, while these are very important things to note and look out for in your skin care line, they are very vague terms and for the most part don’t have any type of regulations to back them up. For instance, just because a product line claims to be “Clean” doesn’t necessarily make it a safe choice for your skin. Vice Versa, just because a product line can contain “chemically-derived” ingredients, doesn’t make it unsafe for your skin.
My best advise for this ultra confusing and overwhelming topic of “Which brand is the best for you?” DO YOUR RESEARCH! There are many great skincare lines out there, but on the flip side there are plenty skincare lines that are very good at advertising and knowing how to trick you into wanting their products. Approach and click with caution!
-WHO IS ENVIRON SKINCARE?
Environ Skincare was created by globally recognized, world-renowned, pioneer for one of the first dermarolling devices, and one of the Top 5 Plastic Surgeons of the WORLD, Dr. Des Fernandes of Cape Town, South Africa in 1990.
After losing 2 melanoma patients before they reached age 23, he was driven to study the mechanism of skin cancer, which lead him to research the topical use of Vitamin A, and VOILA! The creation of a restorative skincare line that could prevent sun damage whilst keeping the skin healthy and cancer cell free was born.
Combining the best of science and cutting-edge technology with sound skin-care principles, AND being one of the first skincare lines to combine Vitamin A with Antioxidants, this science-based skincare line is great for literally everyone’s skin!
The exclusivity of this product line in the US is what makes me fall even more in love with it (among many other reasons.) They keep a tight knit grasp on who can and can’t sell it.
What does that mean for all of you?
PROS: You are getting top-notch, the best of the best, your full money’s worth in skincare products and not some watered down, poor quality version that someone rigged to make a quick buck. You also are having that one-on-one customized approach, where a consultation is required when purchasing so you know that what you are picking up is exactly what your skin needs!

Being a line that was created and is currently formulated in the high climate of South Africa, it allows you to see the full potential of youthfulness that your skin can be, without having to be a vampire and avoid the sun at all costs (which is merely impossible in Cape Town.) Simply put, the products speak for themselves. They work and they make your skin happy so you can live your life to the fullest, risk free.

-WHAT IS ENVIRON SKINCARE?
Light years ahead of other brands, Environ bases their entire line on the importance of Vitamin A and how the skin NEEDS it in order to flourish and survive the beat down of aging. We believe that skin has a life and that Vitamin A is the “oxygen” it needs to looks beautiful and healthy for life.
Sun exposure, pollution, poor diets, tobacco and alcohol, to name a few, all in time will decrease the amounts of Vitamin A in the skin.
What happens when the skin is Vitamin A deficient?
You guessed it…AGED, DULL, LIFELESS, WRINKLED, RED & BLOTCHY SKIN!
So what do we do?
Just like you take your Fish Oil and Probiotics everyday, we topically need to supplement our skin DAILY with Vitamin A too! “Research-backed” “Scientific-backed"… there’s those words again. But let me break down exactly what those words mean to Environ. Environ isn’t focused on coming out with a new product every 6 months to keep up with the “latest trends” and to keep your wallet empty. You will notice it is very rare that the brand comes out with new products because they have spent so much time creating perfection that it doesn’t need to be tweaked or reformulated!
They do rigorous clinical HUMAN testing (NO ANIMAL TESTING,) and most of the time the trials are done on Dr. Des himself before he even considers trialing the products on other human beings. Swiss Vitamin Institute logo has been awarded to Environ’s Step-Up Ranges which verifies that the products tested contain the vitamin strength declared. You the consumer are getting EXACTLY what you paid for. They are tested annually to enable them to carry this prestigious certificate of endorsement.
All Environ packaging adheres to South African (CTFA) and International (COLIPA) coding and labeling standards, so it is completely separate from what the FDA regulates when it comes to cosmetic products and ingredients (we’ll leave that for another day’s topic of discussion)
Environ Skincare has their very own sterile factory with dedicated chemists and state of the art technology in Cape Town, South Africa. Manufactured under contaminant-free conditions, all products are filled under red light to protect light sensitive ingredients. They are also manufactured under a vacuum to prevent exposure to air, using filtered air throughout the factory and always maintain the highest manufacturing practices at all times. There are very few skin care lines around the world that have their own manufacturing facility, which is another reason why Environ Skincare is truly amazing!
